Home-grown entrepreneurs bring holistic, “Honest Food” to River Vale

High quality holistic food for dogs and cats is now available in Bergen County, thanks to two home-grown entrepreneurs.

Demarest brothers Luca and Sevryn Shelesky opened up their first New Jersey branch of Thomaston Feed at 688 Westwood Ave., River Vale on Oct. 15, 2015.

The store features top holistic pet foods and products, most not found anywhere else in the area.
Both brothers have an interest in healthy diet and lifestyles – for both humans and pets.

Sevryn, 25, with a pre-veterinary degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences from the University of Rhode Island, spent two years training with Thomaston Feed founder and cousin Mark Poveromo at the company’s flagship Thomaston, Connecticut store.

Luca, 27, a graduate of University of Pittsburgh, has a finance background. With a life-long interest in personal fitness, nutrition, and healthy eating, he is also a certified personal trainer.

Some brands the store offers include: Canis Raw and Rawganics (raw formulas from a local farmer in upstate New York), Farmina, Blackwood, K9 Naturals, Ziwi Peaks and Rawz.
