Stop & Shop produce and floral experts will teach children how to plant at Bergen County Zoo Tue., Aug. 4

Stop & Shop produce and floral experts will assist master gardener educators at the Bergen County Zoo, Paramus 11 a.m. Tue., Aug. 4,

Youngsters aged 8-13 can learn about the importance of caring for and nurturing the earth and soil. The youngsters will also learn how to plant seeds, nurture growing plants, harvest produce and ultimately understand the health benefits of being able to eat what we grow.

Among the vegetables that the students will plant: broccoli, basil, snap peas, pumpkins, soy beans, lettuce, tomatoes, radishes, cucumbers, carrots, eggplant and zucchini.

The zoo is at 216 Forest Ave.
