Liberty Humane Society will host a “Battle of the (meat)Balls” culinary competition to raise funds to support new spay/neuter clinic at LHS. 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sat., May 9 at Bayonne High School Athletic Facility.

Contestants can submit their best balls for judging during this one-day public event, where spectators and guests are invited to attend and sample.

Prizes will be given to best balls in each of the five categories: traditional, non-traditional, vegetarian/vegan, dessert, and “best balls” (a People’s Choice award).

The event is designed to showcase and celebrate our local chefs, of any and every level of cooking experience. Home chefs, youth chefs (18 and younger) and professional chefs are encouraged to register—each entry will be judged anonymously against all of the other entries in the category.

The tasting competition itself will be open to the public, where guests can sample entries from the registrants, participate in games and a 50/50 raffle.

For more information on how to register go to www.libertyhumane.org.
